The minister was speaking after inaugurating a healthcare centre in Julfar area of Ras Al Khaimah on Thursday. The new centre, which replaced the old one in the area, can provide services to over 7,000 patients.
The minister said new health centres will have state-of-the art infrastructure and modern equipment that suit the UAE health standards.
Al Qutami said this is part of the ministry's strategic plans for improving health services for all the people in the emirates, including those low-income earners who cannot afford the services of private hospitals.
He said about 20 new healthcare centres will be built in the different emirates. Ten centres would be completed in a year. The ministry' plan is to complete two centres every two months.
Additional services including specialist doctors and modern equipment are made available in the new health centres in Ras Al Khaimah so that the Emiratis as well as other residents need not travel to big hospitals in cases of minor health problems.
