A five-year-old Emirati girl was found dead in a sewage at her villa in Ajman's Al Rawda area. After the police and civil defence received an SOS call from her family on Monday, an emergency team rushed to the place and fished out the body from the sewage's opening.
According to the police, the family had reported her missing at Al Humaidiya police station on Sunday after they could not find her at home. They told the police that the girl was playing in the backyard of the villa when she went missing.
The family looked for her that day and when they could not find her, they reported her missing. Next day, a family member spotted her body in the sewage.
The body has been transferred to the forensic laboratory for an autopsy and further investigations are on.
