The huge discounts on various products in almost all shopping malls in the Capital have attracted thousands of shopping enthusiasts to flock the malls over the past two days of Eid Al Fitr holidays.
There has been mega sale at major shopping malls including Yas Mall, Marina Mall, World Trade Centre Mall, Dalma Mall, Bawadi Mall, Hili Mall and Al Jimi Mall - and more than 500 stores taking part with discounts of up to 90 per cent.
Al Wahda Mall, Abu Dhabi Mall and Mushrif Mall have also witnessed great numbers of shoppers because of the huge discounts offered by retailers as residents and tourists have been keen on bagging some bargains and save money on shopping.
Retailers had brought down prices and gave discounts on items such as clothes, shoes, bags, jewellery, perfumes, electronic products, homeware, children's toys, toiletries, accessories and other items.
At Yas Mall, those who made purchases worth at least Dh1,000 have been receiving value-added tax (VAT) refunds.
Shoppers at various malls have also been winning instant prizes from mystery boxes and a triple grand prize give away as part of the sale events.
"Marina Mall is my favourate shopping centre," said Egyptian expat, Mohammed Jamal.
"I'm preparing to go for vacation next month and I have used the opportunity of the big discounts during the Eid holidays to buy garments and toys for my kids and gifts for relatives back home."
Another shopper, Ihsan Khalid, an Indian national said he's spent the long holiday visiting various shopping malls with his family to have fun and buy various items on discounts.
"I and my family do most of our shopping in this period of the year because we know there is always huge discounts on various products," said Khalid.
"I have purchased home items including electronics and also garments for me, my wife and child. We also spend our evening time in the malls for dinner and for children to play."
The malls are organizing entertainment events and shows for kids starting from 4 pm to 10 pm, such as making toys, painting faces, painting portraiture, preparing cookies, magic shows, water bubbles and acrobats.
