The 26-year-old Indian defendant is accused of molesting the boy by kissing him on his cheeks, lips and touching his shoulder and other parts of his body.

The alleged incident happened in May after the boy came back from school with his brother.

In his statement to the police, the defendant said that the boy along with his brother entered the residential building in the Big Souq in Raffa. As the brother went to the lift, the victim stopped and talked to him as he was at the reception.

Then, the defendant allegedly kissed the boy’s cheeks and lower lip. He also touched his shoulder, thigh and other parts of his body.

The boy then took the lift with his brother and a few minutes later their parents came down and called the police. During investigation, the boy said that the defendant followed him to the lift. He allegedly kissed and touched him. He added that he had done the same thing to him even before.

His brother confirmed having seen the defendant kissing his brother on his cheek. He also said that he heard the defendant telling the boy that he played cricket when the boy asked him what he was doing. He said that his brother was scared and added that he had seen the accused kissing his brother a few days earlier.

The defendant admitted during the interrogations by the police and the Public Prosecution that he molested the boy. The verdict will be pronounced later this month. — mary@khaleejtimes.com
