KIDPA draws international interest, says Nahyan

ABU DHABI - The Khalifa International Date Palm Award, or KIDPA, is increasingly drawing international interest in its 4th edition, said Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Award.

The number of candidates this year, which grew by 47.3% to reach 193 from 25 countries, s proof to the Award’s strong regional and international presence, thanks to the wise directives by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and the follow up by H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Sheikh Nahyan added.

He made the remarks as he was briefed by the Award’s Secretariat General on the latest number of candidates.

Dr. Abel Wahhab Zayed, Secretary General of KIDPA said the number of candidates from the UAE for the 2012 edition grew by 68% year-on-year.
