Khalifa to attend Doha summit

ABU DHABI — The President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, will leave for Doha on Sunday, heading a UAE delegation to the 21st Arab Summit to be held at the Qatari capital on March 30-31.

The delegation will include Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister for Presidential Affairs, Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, Obaid Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, Ahmed Juma Al Za’abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs, Ahmed Ali Al Mail Al Za’abi, UAE Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Ambassador at the Arab League, and Abdul Reda Abdullah Khoory, UAE Ambassador to Qatar.

The summit will discuss, among other issues, a report on Arab rapprochement efforts to achieve Arab solidarity, an effort which started at the Kuwait Summit last January.

The summit will also deliberate on another report from the ministerial authority tasked with following up and implementing the resolutions of the previous summit held in the Syrian capital, Damascus, last year.

The Arab leaders will also discuss developments on the Arab, regional and international scenes, particularly, the Palestinian issue, in addition to other political, economic, social and environmental issues.
