Khalifa Receives Sarkozy’s Letter

ABU DHABI — The President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has received from French President Nicolas Sarkozy, a letter dealing with bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to boost them in various fields.

The letter was delivered to Foreign Minister Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, when he received the visiting French Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Mrs Anne-Marie Idrac, at Emirates Palace on Tuesday.

The meeting was also attended by Foreign Trade Minister Shaikha Lubna Al Qasimi. Topics discussed at the meeting included the world financial crisis, the growing economic, trade and investment

cooperation between the UAE and France and the significance of giving regular boost to these relations.

The French minister said President Sarkozy will soon call for a world summit to discuss the current world financial crisis and change the global financial system.

She reiterated the commitment of her country and French companies to boost their investments in the UAE. She praised the level of economic, trade, investment and infrastructure development in the UAE.
