Community management bodies send out circulars listing ‘security measures before travel’
Inaugurated on November 27, the village themed ‘Our Past Our Pride’ is open to public from 9am to 2pm and from 5pm to 9pm. The village will remain open until December 15. Showcasing various features of the UAE heritage, traditions and customs, the village will host a variety of activities aimed at promoting the culture of preserving the Emirati tradition derived from Islamic values and traditions.
A traditional show presented by students from Ajnadin School, titled ‘Banat Al Fareej’ or ‘Girls of the Vicinity’, a poetry session and folk song-and-dance performances by the traditional Al-Ayyala and Al-Harbeyia troupes, marked the launch of the village.
A colourful laser show and heritage-related quiz also were part of the event. The Heritage Village features a traditional sea house, mud house, Arabic tent, a fishing boat (sambouk), a cafe, and a replica of a water well. Also, handicrafts are on display at the traditional shops.
