Herculean effort for Mother’s Day

DUBAI — Ali Ibrahim, a 12-year-old student of the Dubai Centre for Training of People with Special Needs, took part, along with more than 100 students from various schools, in preparing the biggest ever greeting card to celebrate Mother’s Day at the Child City in Dubai on Monday.

Holding the brush between his teeth, Ali, who suffers from paralysis, created some of the most exquisite paintings during the event, organised by the Dubai Municipality and the Child City and sponsored by the Saleh bin Lahej Group.

“Ali’s paintings were absolutely beautiful and the bright colours he used reflected his aspirations and optimism for a promising future,” said Osama Saliheen, Chairman of the Hospitality Department at the Bin Lahej Group.

The 48-square metre greeting card, marking the Mother’s Day celebrations today, will be put on display at the main entrance to the Child City.

Copies of the card will also be printed and distributed among students.
