He addressed the crowd gathered at the Union square after the march. He emphasised on the historic significance of the Union Square when the UAE flag was raised 37 years ago.

Shaikh Hamdan emphasised on the importance of the declaration of the Union and its impact on the UAE nationals.

He renewed the pledge of the country’s founding fathers and applauded their wise leadership for placing the UAE among the top-ranked countries in the world.

The parade saw the participation of the members of the Dubai Executive Council, heads of various government departments, a large number of civil servants, professionals, students and residents who sang patriotic songs and danced to the tunes of traditional drum beats. The streets in Jumeirah were decked with miniature flags and the participants of the march were seen clad in national colours.

The public had lined up on both sides of the road cheering the various folk performances, singers, traditional dancers and the members of the civil defence department.

Dubai Police had closed all roads leading to Jumeirah Center before the march.
