Rotski Bautista from the Philippines decided to give his mother 1 million (Dh69,000 approx) Philippine pesos in cash as a Christmas gift in a rather unique way. In a video posted on Facebook, Bautista explains how he likes playing pranks on his mother who used to sell porridge for a living.
According to the Filipino Times, Bautista said that his mother, Paz, raised him and his two siblings by selling porridge and came up with an idea to thank her for all her sacrifices. Bautista hid 1 million pesos in cash in a cooking pot wrapped in a box and called his mother to play a game where she had to choose between receiving a 'mystery gift box' or 10,000 pesos (Dh700 approx) instead.
She apparently chooses the gift box only to discover a cooking pot inside. For a few moments, the mother seems to be disheartened to receive a cooking pot but then Bautista offers her another deal as part of the game. For the second round of the game, Bautista adds another 5,000 pesos to the lump sum and again asks his mother to choose between the cash or contents of the cooking pot.
The mother again goes on to choose the cooking pot as the family is seen cheering her in the video. Finally the mother gets to take off the cooking pot lid and discovers 1 million in cash. The overwhelmed mother is seen screaming out of joy and embraces her son for his Christmas gift.
Bautista explained he wanted to gift his first million to his mother for her sacrifices.
