After a thrilling three-day aerobatic event, Fursan Al Emarat has been crowned the 2015 Al Ain Air Championship victor.
More than 50,000 visitors attended the Al Ain Air Championship, with the UAE's national aerobatic team taking top spot after impressing a prestigious judging panel in 'The Grand Champion'.
Adopting a competition format for the first time, spectators were also given the chance to vote for their favourite acts this year - another first for the event.
Jasem Al Darmaki acting director general, TCA Abu Dhabi presented the winning award to Lieutenant Colonel Nasser Al Obaidli, Fursan Al Emarat Team leader.
'The Grand Champion' showcased an excellent display of skill and precision, impressed the audience and led the scoreboard by 51.06 points. 'Bravo 3 Repsol' came in second with 51.05 points, followed by 'Breitling Wingwalkers' with 50.22 points.
"It is a huge honour for us to win the first Grand Champion title of the Al Ain Air Championship 2015," Lt Col Al Obaidli said.
Participants were also being judged for the Breitling Style Awards in four categories, namely, Power, Grace, Pride and WOW factor. In the category of Power, the winner was 'Bravo 3 Repsol', while in the category of Grace; Glider FX Aerobatics took top spot.
In addition to overall winner, 'Fursan Al Emarat' won the best showcase of Pride, with 'Breitling Wingwalkers' taking the title for WOW factor.
