Executive Committee approves projects

ABU DHABI - The Executive Committee held a meeting today under the chairmanship of Mohamed Ahmed Al Bowardi, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.

The Committee approved a proposal submitted by the Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) on contracting consultants for South Shamkha Development project.

The project will be built on a 4,000 hectares area, 45 kilometers from Abu Dhabi city. The area will accommodate 15,000 residential, commercial and services units to serve more than 140,000 people.

Also approved was a proposed project by the Department of Transport to construct a new route in Ruwais as part of the Mafraq-Ghuwaifat highway. The project involves upgrading the and expansion of the existing road.

The committee reviewed two proposed projects by the General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police for expansion of the central stores and the criminal evidence store.
