Entry Free in Al Gharbia Parks This Month

AL GHARBIA — Entry to all parks in Al Gharbia is free throughout this month in view of the Month of Municipalities
being observed.

Visitors to the parks in Madinat Zayed, Ghayathi, Al Sila, and Al Marfa and on Delma Island will not be charged entry fee.

All games will also be free for the visitors.

According to Rakan Mohammed Al Marar, Director of Information and Public Relations Department of the Al Gharbia Municipality, the civic body will organise a number of activities and programmes in the parks, including cartoon characters to entertain children, and cultural and entertainment contests with prizes for the winners.

Public relations, communication, environment, social, parks and entertainment departments will take part in the activities during the month. The celebration is designed to achieve the vision of the municipality to make Al Gharbia the symbol of modernity and welfare and prosperity through municipal services, he said.

Wooden Mosques inAl Gharbia Removed

The General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments (Awqaf) has removed all wooden mosques in the industrial area of Madinat Zayed. They are being replaced withnew mosques.

Sultan Zayed Al Mazroai, Director-General of the authority’s office in the Western Region, said that the office is taking into account the availability of alternative mosques until the new ones are built.
