Early eye tests to detect problem

DUBAI - Experts say screening of Dubai school children has helped diagnose undetected visual problems at an early stage.

The ‘Vision Screening Initiative for Schools', organised by Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai, for school children has found that eye problems left undetected, could lead to more serious health and development problems for the child in the future.

According to ophthalmologists, around one quarter of school-age children have some form of vision problem, such as short sightedness, astigmatism, cataracts, colour blindness, lazy eye or genetic diseases.
