Smart bike, smartphone apps for the public and a special bicycle designed for the protection of VIPs are among the innovative ideas being showcased by the Dubai Police as part of the Innovation Week 2016.
Lt.-Gen. Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police, opened the Dubai Police platform at the Dubai Mall, in the presence of Maj.-Gen. Abdul Rahman Mohammad Rafi, Assistant to the Dubai Police Chief for Community Service, and Maj.-Gen. Pilot Ahmad Mohammad bin Thani, Assistant Chief for the Directorate General for Ports Affairs.
The Dubai Police platform showcases a range of the latest innovations in policing and innovative models to educate people about various security features.
Interactive system of ideas
The Dubai Police have announced the launch of an 'interactive system of ideas' which attracted visitors to share the views and ideas about policing in a smart way on an iPad. The Innovation Week activities include brainstorming sessions for students, which will discuss a range of topics. Also there is a reading corner, which has a programme for e-reading and getting books in a smart way by using the barcode scanner.
