The characters of Dubai Parks and Resorts, the Middle East's largest integrated theme park destination, were spotted at Dubai International Airport, terminal three, while arriving to town as they move to their new home. The characters are in town to #CelebrateAmazing as the region prepares for the opening of its long awaited entertainment destination.
Airport visitors were delighted to see the characters at terminal three's arrivals section, and were able to interact with Shrek and the Smurfs from MOTIONGATE Dubai, our lookalike Don from Bollywood Parks Dubai and Buddy from LEGOLAND Dubai.
The characters will now settle into their new homes at Dubai Parks and Resorts, and welcome their guests who will get the chance to meet these remarkable characters in person and enjoy over 100 rides and attractions across three theme parks and one water park.
The entertainment destination commenced its historic opening with LEGOLAND Dubai and Riverland Dubai on October 31. Shortly followed by Bollywood Parks Dubai on 17th November, while MOTIONGATE Dubai and LEGOLAND Water Park, along with Lapita Hotel will debut in December 2016.
Vinit Shah, Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer at DXB Entertainments, owner of Dubai Parks and Resorts, said: "We're extremely excited about the long-awaited arrival of the Dubai Parks and Resorts' characters to their new home. The hype and excitement we've witnessed so far towards the entertainment destination has been outstanding, and with the arrival of the characters to Dubai we're sure their fans from all ages are very eager to meet them in person and #CelebrateAmazing together."
Dubai Parks and Resorts comprises three theme parks: Bollywood Parks Dubai, a first-of-its-kind theme park that will showcase rides and attractions based on some of Bollywood's biggest blockbusters. MOTIONGATE Dubai, the Middle East's largest Hollywood-inspired theme park featuring 27 action-packed rides and attractions, as well as the region's first LEGOLAND Park and a LEGOLAND Water Park.
The entire destination will be connected by Riverland Dubai - a retail and dining destination at the heart of Dubai Parks and Resorts that is free for all to enjoy, and guests can stay at the Lapita Hotel, a Polynesian themed family hotel part of the Marriott Autograph Collection.
Expected to open in late 2019, Six Flags Dubai will be the destination's fourth theme park and the region's first Six Flags theme park.
