Dubai Metro commuters were stranded on Tuesday morning after a technical glitch hit the Red Line, halting the train at Damac Properties metro station.
After waiting inside for a few minutes, passengers were asked to vacate the train.
"Everybody gathered on the platform after leaving the train. Two Metro guys came and asked us to be patient, saying they have no update yet," a commuter told Khaleej Times.
While some commuters waited at the platform, many chose to take taxis to reach their destinations.
"I have an important meeting at 9am and this is so unexpected. I better skip Metro today," Joan, a sales professional, told Khaleej Times.
"I have been stuck for the second time. The train had stopped when I was in the Metro the last time as well," Jalila, who commutes from JLT to Burjuman, added.
The service was restored after a few minutes.
