Drug trafficker gets life term
DUBAI - A 51-year-old Iranian businessman was sentenced by Dubai Court on Monday to life imprisonment to be followed by deportation for possessing drugs for purpose of trafficking.
According to the court, the Anti-Narcotics department was tipped off that the suspect possessed a quantity of heroin and planning to sell it.
Police laid a trap and sent a plain clothed policeman in disguise as a buyer. The two met on November 7 when the accused handed him over a sample of the heroin for Dh50,000 per kilo. After the police undercover agent agreed to the deal, policemen raided the place and caught him, who was identified as Abdul A.
