This was disclosed on Sunday by Eisa Adam Ibrahim, President of DSMG, at a Press conference held at Mercato Mall to announce the promotion which offers DSS shoppers a chance to win prizes up to Dh2 million including a dream home at the world-class Jumeirah Beach Residence plus a total of 10 Mitsubishi Lancers.

This year's DSMG promotion - which runs from June 17 to August 27 - will be a break from the past as the group has introduced a new format featuring two draws a week instead of the previous years' once a week draw.

DSS shoppers spending Dh200 at any of the participating mall will be entitled to a coupon that will be entered into the two weekly-draws - the first weekly draw every Wednesday will offer a Mitsubishi Pajero, while the winner of the second draw every Sunday will receive a gift hamper from Paris Gallery worth Dh10,000.

The same coupon will be entered at the grand draw for a "Dream Prize" package worth over Dh1.3 million. This consists of a luxurious apartment at Jumeirah Beach Residence valued at Dh 800,000 plus a Mitsubishi Pajero and a watch from an international brand worth Dh 70,000 courtesy Paris Gallery. If a shopper makes the purchase with a MasterCard, an additional coupon will be provided, doubling the opportunity to win.

Saeed Al Nabouda, Chief Executive Officer, DSS, attributed the success of the DSS to the collaboration between the government and private sectors. "Both have joined hands to ensure the success of the mega promotion. We expect the number of shoppers to shoot up, and witness a remarkable increase in sales," he said.

Mr Ibrahim said that the "Win a Dream" is the biggest ever-promotion to be run by the DSMG. The promotion aims to further enrich the rewarding shopping experience that Dubai offers residence and visitors, and promotes Dubai as the year-round shopping destination of the Middle East with the help of the DSMG, he said. "The promotion grows bigger and better year after year and is designed to change the life of someone," he stressed.

Mohammed bin Brek, Chief Operating Officer, Jumeirah Beach Residence, said that as a key sponsor of the DSS for the second consecutive year, Jumeirah Beach Residence is proud to participate in the DSMG promotion for the first time.

Thomas Edelmann, Vice President, Marketing, MasterCard International, said this year, MasterCard's involvement in DSMG's campaign aims to make shopping a truly rewarding experience for its cardholders by doubling their chances of winning some of the prizes on offer.
