The programme included healthcare and training programmes for prisoners, in addition to orphan sponsorships. Thousands of needy families in Al Ain and other areas received the UAE-RCS assistance, under the directives of Shaikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the UAE RCS, who wanted the humanitarian support to reach a large number of needy people in the country.
According to Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, Director UAE RCS, Al Ain, the humanitarian aid distributed throughout the first three months of the current year stood at Dh289,444. Beneficiaries were 425 needy families.
The financial support spent on healthcare was estimated at Dh319,800 which covered 42 poor families. He said RCS helped prisoners who had debts provided that they were not convicted in other cases.
