A shocking video of an assault in a Kuwaiti store has gone viral online.
Posted earlier this week, the video shows a customer - a Kuwaiti citizen, according to media reports - brutally beating up an Egyptian store worker, who reportedly refused to serve the angry customer because he was on a lunch break.
The video shows the customer hitting the worker even after he had fainted.
Talking to an Egyptian TV channel, CBC Extra, the owner of the shop said that the Egyptian worker is currently in Intensive Care unit, and the medical team is trying to determine if he has had a concussion or internal bleeding.
However, Nabila Makram, Egyptian Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs, said on Wednesday that she will visit the Egyptian worker in Kuwait, and will work to bring justice to the victim.
Makram added that she spoke with the Egyptian ambassador in Kuwait, and contacted Hind Al-Sabeeh, Kuwaiti Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, who told her that this is an individual act that should not reflect on the warm relations between Egypt and Kuwait.
The incident is under investigation, Makram added.
