Khaleej Times, in collaboration with Smart Pay powered by UAE Exchange, did take people of the UAE for a surprise. A surprise that brought them close to their loved ones and took them home. An opportunity to spread smiles to five lucky winners who are chosen at random and given a chance to celebrate Eid Al Fitr with their families whom they have not seen over the years.
Many expats take ownership of being the backbone of their families at the cost of living thousands of miles away from them. Every person does wish to go back home and spend time with their loved ones, but not everyone is blessed to do so. This year, Smart Pay powered by UAE Exchange, made the impossible possible. A special campaign that brings you home, close to your loved ones during Eid, would surely be a delight.
Abaasi Wasajja from Uganda is a construction worker at Abu Hail and is one of the winners of this campaign. He has been in the UAE since 2016 and has not been home for four years now. Due to financial limitations, he has not been able to fly back home to his wife and children. In spite of this, he continues to work hard and give the best to his family. He sends his earnings and supports education for his children and ensures that they have a better lifestyle each day. But his heart does dip when he is unable to celebrate occasions like Eid with his family, but this year for sure turns out to be a blessed one for him, as he bags this ticket to fly back home.
Smart pay, a corporate payroll solution launched by UAE exchange, in collaboration with Khaleej Times did wow the local people and brought smiles and won their hearts. Abaasi is extremely thankful to have won the ticket and looks forward to going back home.
