Fifty-four prisoners have been released after Beit Al Khair Society settled their debts that kept them behind the bars.
Abdeen Taher Al-Awadi, Executive Director of Beit Al Khair Society, said this initiative would allow the released prisoners to join their families ahead of Eid Al Adha to share the Eid joy and resume their lives in peace. He added the charity body paid over Dh1.4 million to redeem the debts.
Al-Awadi added that "The move boosts the spirit of solidarity among Emiratis and demonstrates the societal responsibilities of Beit Al-Khair Society." - Wam
