The assailants, who appeared to be Pakistanis, were armed with an air gun as they entered Al Shukook Supermarket in Industrial Area No. 6 at 7am, a supermarket employee told Khaleej Times.
Before being shifted to hospital, Mohammed told police the robbers ran away with cash of Dh47,000 and 50 prepaid telephone cards.
Mohammed was rushed to Al Qasimi Hospital where he is undergoing treatment for injuries on the shoulder and leg.
One of the colleagues of the victim said Mohammed had been working in the supermarket for many years and did not have enmity with anybody.
