The body of a 34-year-old Arab national was found on Monday afternoon at Ajman corniche.
A pilot-less plane doing rounds discovered the body, after which it was taken out of the sea by the Ajman Civil Defence marine rescue unit.
According to Colonel Nasser Rashid Al Zarri, Director of the Media and Public Relations department, "The body was taken to Khalifa Hospital and attempts to rescue him failed. The rescue unit received a call at around 12.20 afternoon reporting the drowning of the swimmer and on rushing to the beach his body was found and it seems the high sea waves drifted his body away from the sea shore in a way that made it hard for him to go back."
Colonel Al Zarri added that the plane took air photos and searched for the man.
