Daffy, DubG, Face, Kew and Q.B. will cut the ribbon at the Airport Expo Dubai to open Fusion 06, the fashion, music and style festival for the region’s young and trendy.
The talented rappers will also perform live in concert tomorrow night, mixing hip-hop or rap beats with their own unique musical style.
Adam Taylor, Exhibition Director, Fusion 06, said, “Army of One has a huge following and we are thrilled that they have agreed to open our event. We are expecting more than 20,000 visitors to Fusion 06 over the next three days. Entrance is free.”
Taylor advised visitors to get there early to avoid queues.
Tonight’s music show will also feature Leanne, a gifted R&B singer with a repertoire that includes hard-hitting club tracks to moving ballads. Leanne is no stranger to the big stage having supported the likes of Alicia Keys, Chante More and P Diddy. Following Leanne, DJ Charl Chaka will hit the decks with his unique mix of Deep-Funk-Tech to Afro-Tribal-House.
On Saturday evening, the legendary Jabber will be rapping his ‘poetry in motion’ infusing Arabic into Indian rhythms.
Other musical events will include free DJ Workshops where budding MCs can learn how to scratch and mix with a bit of ‘ice and spice’. Daily drum jam sessions will be held for novices.
Fans of the Ford Fusion Stars singing contest can check out their favourites, as the competition will culminate in semifinals and finals to be held live on stage. On Saturday, the winner will be presented with the keys to a brand new Ford Focus.
Organiser IIR Middle East is also hosting hundreds of exhibitors covering everything from fashion to technology and sports to music.
The festival will also feature iconic brands, must-have gadgets, model scouts, free beauty makeovers, Fusion goodie bags, adventure activities, fashion shows, Zee Arabiya’s VJ recruitment drive, a pool competition with pool tables up for grabs for the winners and daily prize draws to attract the interest of a youth audience.
Fusion 06 aims to establish itself as the next generation lifestyle show for the Middle East.
