Army chief extension case: Pakistan PM Imran Khan reacts to SC order

Islamabad - The country's top court issued a short order today.

Pakistan PM Imran Khan said that today's Supreme Court order in the Army chief's extension case was a 'great disappointment' for mafias within and external enemies.

Khan took to Twitter shortly after the verdict was announced by the country's top court. The three-member bench decided to extend Army chief Bajwa's tenure by six months. He was set to retire on November 29. The Pakistan PM said that the order must be a great disappointment for mafias and enemies who were expecting a clash of institutions.

Today must be a great disappointment to those who expected the country to be destabilised by a clash of institutions. That this did not happen must be of special disappointment to our external enemies & mafias within -

For the record, 23 yrs ago we were the first Party to advocate an independent Judiciary and Rule of Law. In 2007, PTI was in the forefront of the Movement for Independence of the Judiciary & I was jailed for it.
