The civil defence teams in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah have successfully managed to rescue a 38-year-old Arab resident who was locked inside a lift of a residential building.
The central operations room of the RAK Police, having been alerted of the incident, dispatched a rescue teams, civil defence men and national ambulance to the site in a record time.
"The man was over exhausted and almost unconscious when the RAK civil defence men successfully opened the technically dysfunctioning lift, and rescued the man in," according to informed sources.
First aids were provided to the unwell man before he was shifted to the nearest hospital for due care, whereas the incident file was referred to the bodies concerned to identify the reasons behind the lift dysfunction," they added.
"The landlord was alerted against the technical problem that poses a grave risk to people's life, particularly young kids staying in the building."
The same sources said that three Asians received several injuries and burns after a road collision involving two heavy trucks that were on fire on the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed road in the direction of Al Twain area in Ras Al Khaimah.
The civil defence teams, alerted of the mishap, rushed to the scene where one of the two trucks was totally gutted in fire while the second one was partially damaged and burnt.
"First aids were provided to the three men who sustained several injuries and burns, following which they were shifted to the Saqr hospital for treatment and medical care."
The RAK civil defence men had, meanwhile, put out the two on fire trucks before spreading to other cars and nearby area. "The accidence file was referred to the police bodies concerned for due procedures."
