A major step in ADFCA’s efforts for boosting agricultural productivity and crop quality in the emirate, the campaign aims to motivate farmers to adopt best practices for better protection of cultivable lands and the environment, betterment of the quality and quantity of agri-crops and resultant economic returns and reduction of the use of water resources.
Winning the trust of the consumers for local farming products and attaining higher levels of food security are among the main motives behind ADFCA’s reform drive in the farming sector.
Mubarak Ali Mohammed Al Mansouri, the Executive Director of Agriculture Sector, ADFCA, stated that the Authority achieved leaps in developing the agriculture sector in the Emirate and in optimizing the farmers’ capabilities. “We are focusing in these campaigns on streamlining the ties between the farmers and the land, and providing them with state of the art technologies and capabilities. The objective is to nurture a sustainable agricultural sector that will benefit generations to come,” he pointed out.
“The theme of the campaign centres around the national pride and honour that the nationals feel towards their country, along with the role of agriculture in strengthening ties between the farmers and land. The key theme for the campaign is that agriculture plays an integral role in developing the society and culture. We hope that the initiative will prove effective in helping farmers adopt best agricultural practices and subsequently better their produce. We will always assist the farmers in understanding the key components of this sector. We are confident our collective efforts will raise the profile of our products to reach the highest standards,” he added.

We want to help the farmers understand as to how the policies are formulated with a view to help them improve the benefits of their profession. ADFCA’s agricultural reform is aimed at sustainability and development of the sector in its entirety,” he pointed out.
“The campaign seeks to revive in the minds of the citizens the role of agriculture in building a civilization, symbolized in the slogan used in the campaign: “our agriculture. Our Civilization.”. This was all to draw the public’s attention to the importance of the agriculture sector in the emirate and to the policies and strategies aimed to promote the agricultural reality in Abu Dhabi,” He added, emphasizing the importance of encouraging local agricultural produce to global standards.
