The Capital has been adorned with bright lights and colourful decorations for the holy month of Ramadan. Abu Dhabi City Municipality decorated various highways, public squares and railings in Abu Dhabi City with geometric configurations of lighting ahead of the fasting season.
The step reiterates the commitment of the Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport, as well as Abu Dhabi City Municipality - to nurture a pleasant environment commensurate with the spiritual values of the holy month. Abu Dhabi has been spruced up with spectacular lighting shapes depicting the tranquility, peace and spiritual atmosphere that characterise the significant month.
The decorative lighting project carried out by the Municipality includes Islamic and configurations inspired by the holy month. The geometric shapes also include arabesque decorations and Islamic motifs in addition myriads of Ramadan lanterns, displayed in an innovative style.
Ramadan lighting plan targets the most popular areas in the capital such as Abu Dhabi Corniche, key roundabouts and bridges. The decoration plan includes installing 560 Ramadan lanterns, 100 crescents and, stars, and more than 850 Islamic lighting configurations.
The plan also decorated includes decorating key roundabouts, bridges and streets, such as the Breakwater, King Abdullah Street, and the Abu Dhabi Corniche was decorated with breathtaking and exhilarating lighting designs, impressive decorations and a variety of geometric shapes carrying the phrase "Ramadan Kareem," as it represents a popular tourist destination frequented by thousands of residents.
Al Mussafah, Carrefour, Al Jawazat, and Al Murror bridges have also been decorated with various illuminated stars and phrases, such as, "Ramadan Kareem," "Nasyem Al Khair," and "Ramadan Al Khair," in addition to decorative works on mosques and minarets including crescents, decorative and Islamic shapes. The Municipality's premises will remain sparkling with lights throughout the holy month of Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr days.
