The Ras Khaimah Police have geared up for Eid Al Adha and deployed 77 traffic and security patrols across the emirate to ensure public safety and security.
Major-General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, commander-in-chief of the RAK Police, said the patrols are mainly monitoring tourist places, parks, markets residential areas, and public gatherings.
"These are apart from the over 131,000 surveillance cameras covering every nook and corner of the emirate to curb reckless activities of people and ensure people's happiness and satisfaction."
Some patrols will be stationed at the musallas - open prayer areas - to ensure smooth flow of traffic, he added.
"A good number of security staff will also be available to keep an eye on these places, protect people against criminals, and check illegal practices, if they find any."
Both internal roads and highways of the emirate will also be monitored by advanced surveillance cameras round the clock, he pointed out.
"Some ambulances and rescue teams will also be available on call in collaboration with the National Ambulance department."
The punitive and correctional institutions in the emirate will be open during Eid, he added.
Al Nuaimi urged parents to advise their kids to avoid illegal practices, never play with fireworks or drive their vehicles without licence. He also warned beach goers to swim only at the designated areas and avoid areas with high currents.
"Young children should never be left unattended while swimming in the sea, and all swimmers should always be wearing life jackets."
Four marine rescue patrols will be watching over the beaches and coasts of the emirate, he noted. "Each and every marine patrol has professional rescuers, search and assistance experts, guards, jet skis and water-powered bikes."
The Air Wing is also geared up with four choppers to immediately respond to emergency cases, Al Nuaimi underlined. "Our well-trained rescuers are equipped with the latest search and rescue devices to handle any situation professionally."
