Lieutenant Colonel Ibrahim Jalal Al Baloushi, Director, Centers Administration, General Administration, Civil Defense Abu Dhabi, said the team quickly rushed to the site and brought the situation under control.
"The fire did not result in any injuries to people. Losses were limited to the yacht."
Local authorities are investigating to find out the reason behind the incident.
Al Baloushi urged owners of yachts anchored by the backwaters to follow standards for public safety and stick to guidelines issued by the civil defence and avoid such accidents.
