Apple is set to recall 88,000 iPhone 6s devices due to battery issues, Arabic daily Emarat Al Youm reported on Sunday.
According to the report, UAE Ministry of Economy said that only specific phones that contained the defective battery manufactured in China during 2015, will be recalled.
In a statement issued by the Cupertino-based tech giant in 2016, they had determined that a very small number of iPhone 6s devices may unexpectedly shut down. This was not a safety issue and only affected devices within a limited serial number range that were manufactured between September and October 2015.
iPhone users were asked to use the serial number checker on their website to see if their iPhone 6s was eligible for a battery replacement.
