UAE Team Emirates' Yousif Mirza, the recently crowned 2018 Asian Road Cycling Champion, added another medal to his name after picking up silver in the Omnium at the Asian Track Cycling Championship in Malaysia.
The Emirati, competing on behalf of the UAE National Team, narrowly missed out on gold, finishing just five points behind eventual winner Eiya Hashimoto (Japan).
Commenting on his silver medal performance, Mirza said; "I'm managing to continue my form and feel that I'm in good condition, having improved after racing in Argentina and at the Dubai Tour. I love racing on the track. It's not easy to be competitive on both the road and on the track, but I have that extra motivation of trying to inspire and set new records for the UAE. Silver medal is a great achievement and I'm so happy I'm obtaining important results during the year of Zayed."
