Opener XI scored a comprehensive six-wicket victory to oust hosts Dulsco and move into the semifinals of the 14th Dulsco Ramadan Cricket tournament at the Zabeel Park Cricket Ground, Zabeel Park, Dubai, on Thursday night. The Tournament is organised by Dulsco Sports Club under the auspices of Dubai Sports Council.
In the semifinal on Friday night, Opener will slug it out with hot favourites Global Distribution. Multiplex International have already booked a place in the final.
Dulsco never got into the groove after winning the toss and opting to bat first as they were restricted to 127-6 in 20 overs and then Opener XI overhauled the target in the 16th over after losing four wickets.
Opener XI owe their victory to their bowlers who struck a disciplined line to choke the rival batsmen as runs came in a trickle. And despite having wickets in hand, Dulsco never could accelerate.
Only Zeeshan looked on top of the Opener XI bowling as he scored a 33-ball 34 which included one hit to the fence. Barjinder Kumar and Danish Parooqui claimed two wickets each.
When Opener XI started their run chase, they suffered a quick jolt with Noman Farooqui (2) making an early exit. But any hopes of Dulsco making a match out of it were dashed by the next pair of Waqas Ahmed and Yasheer Kaleem.

Then Kaleem guided the team to victory remaining not out on 39 after facing 27 balls and hitting two fours and two sixes. Waqas was named the Multiplex man of the match.
