Eid Al Fitr likely to begin on June 25, Sunday; long holiday ahead?

Two-thirds of the holy month of Ramadan is now over, and it's just 11 more days to go before Eid Al Fitr.

According to the Hijri calendar published by the islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department of the Government of Dubai, today is the 18th day of Ramadan, and there are just 11 more days to go before the holy month comes to an end, subject to moon sighting.

The federal government as well as governments of few individual emirates have announced that salaries for June will be disbursed early.

Last year the festival began on July 6, Wednesday, and the UAE government had announced a nine-day holiday for celebrations.
