Some parts of the UAE got a brief relief from the hot weather after receiving light to moderate rains on Friday.
The National Center of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) said some parts of the eastern region experienced light to moderate rains while some parts received strong rain. Videos were also shared on social media showing flooding in certain areas.
On Thursday, rain was also reported in the Masafi region, despite the temperature touching 50 degrees Celsius.
Rain is expected to continue in the next two days as there is still a chance of towering clouds over the eastern and southern areas, associated with some rainfall in varying intensity.

According to a meteorologist at the NCMS, the towering cloud formation is brought about by southeasterly fresh winds coming from the mountain of Oman and the UAE combined with high humidity from the seas and the temperature hovering at a high of 50 degrees Celsius.
Cloud seeding has also brought rains over the northeast side of Al Ain.
Meanwhile, the general weather forecast is hot to very hot; partly cloudy and hazy at times. There will be moderate winds, freshening at times over some areas, that may cause blowing dust and sand reducing the horizontal visibility over the exposed areas. Sea will be rough in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.
