Light to moderate fog is expected to develop again over Sharjah and Dubai tomorrow (Sunday) morning in the early hours, a senior meteorologist at the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) said.
Today (Saturday), fog enveloped the emirates of Sharjah and Dubai and coastal areas, causing visibility to drop by 200 metres.
Senior meteorologist at NCMS, Dr. Abdul Karim, said humidity will increase in the evening time today by 95 to 100 per cent because of the fog formation.
“There was fog formation in the early hours of this morning and it disappeared at 9am. The fog appeared in the northern coast and adjacent inland areas, near to the Sharjah and Dubai airports. There was also fog formation in the central inlands and shallow fog over the Maktoum International Airport and Al Ain Airport.
“There will be 95 to 100 per cent humidity tonight and there will be a 30 to 40 per cent chance of fog formations again tomorrow, mainly within the coastal areas and adjacent areas, such as Dubai and Sharjah.”

According to the NCMS, fog gripped Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, including Khalifa College, and Dubai's Al Maktoum International airport in the early hours of Saturday. NCMS also reported mist over Sharjah, Al Minhad and Swiehan.
It has also warned against fog formation that could bring visibility down to less than 1000m at times.
In a statement on Saturday, NMCS said the weather will be fair in general during daytime, while being partly cloudy and hazy at times.
The clouds will form over some eastern areas, becoming convective at times during afternoon, it said.
Light to moderate winds in general, freshening at times and causing blowing dust and sand over exposed areas can also be expected.
"The relative humidity is likely to increase during night and early morning over some coastal and internal areas especially westward. Seas will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman," it added.
The temperature in the internal areas could hover between 36°C to 41°C during the day. Humidity levels could be as high as 95 per cent.

The statement said the weather conditions are likely to be the same on Sunday and Monday.
