His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, expressed the UAE's support for the Libyan people and its choices and ambitions for a stable and secure life.
Sheikh Mohamed also expressed his hope for the unity of the Libyan people so as to serve Libya's national interests.
Sheikh Mohamed made his remarks during a meeting with Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, Commander General of the Libyan Armed Forces, in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.
Sheikh Mohammed congratulated Hafter on the liberation of Benghazi from terrorist groups and wished success and good luck for the Libyan people and national forces for more victories in their efforts against extremists, terrorists in order to liberate all Libya from this destructive menaces of the nations' abilities and lives, security and stability of peoples.
Sheikh Mohamed reiterated that the UAE's unequivocal position towards the stability of Libya and security of its people is the key driver of "our policy towards this brother Arab country".
The Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and the Libyan commander discussed ways of boosting bilateral cooperation and took stock of the latest regional and global developments, particularly the Emirati-Libyan efforts, coordination and cooperation with other regional and international actors in countering extremism, violence and terrorist organisations.
Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar expressed gratitude to the UAE for standing with the Libyan people so as to realise security and stability.
