Emirati woman threatens another on Instagram

Dubai - She threatened to kill the other woman and bring her restaurant down on her

A 28-year-old Emirati woman was charged in the Court of First Instance with making criminal threats against a countrywoman online.
The accused, who is a PRO, is accused of posting a clip on Instagram in which she threatened to kill the other woman and bring her restaurant down on her.
She is also charged with verbally abusing the restaurant owner online.
The 45-year-old Emirati complainant, a businesswoman, said around 1 am on February 22 she logged on to her Instagram account and found the accused was live broadcasting a clip which was made available to all her followers including the complainant.
"She was cursing and insulting me. She was also threatening she would kill me and destroy the restaurant on me if I ever talked to her again. I filed a complaint against her at Al Rashidiyah police station".
The clip featuring a woman, threatening another and saying that she had grabbed her by her shirt and was spreading rumors about her, was used in the case by the public prosecution.
The accused confessed in her statement to the police she threatened the complainant via Instagram.
