Pink Caravan ride ends today in Abu Dhabi

The Pink Caravan, a pan-UAE awareness initiative by the Friends of Cancer Patients (FoCP) concludes its sixth annual ride in Abu Dhabi today after 10 days of spreading awareness about breast cancer and the importance of its early detection across the seven emirates.
With more than 100 male and female riders of various nationalities, the 2016 ride has seen a line-up of associated events.
The medical clinics offered free breast cancer clinical medical examinations, conducted by the Pink Caravan's medical team, in collaboration with the London-based Princess Grace Hospital, to thousands of men and women throughout the country.
The closing ceremony of the Pink Caravan Ride 2016 will take place today at 7pm at the St Regis Saadiyat Island Resort in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, heads of Pink Caravan's committees and Pink Caravan ambassadors, as well as partners, sponsors, voluntary riders and doctors who participated in this year's ride.
On the final leg of the nationwide tour, the riders and the medical teams will start their closing day from Abu Dhabi Corniche at 9am to reach St Regis Hotel at 3.30pm.
The mobile clinics will receive visitors today from 9am-7pm.
The Pink Caravan Ride took place from March 7 - 17, under the patronage of His Highness Dr. Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and with the follow up of his wife, Shaikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Founder and Royal Patron of the FoCP.
