The Ras Al Khaimah Charity Foundation has contributed Dh122,400 to the Human Appeal International for supporting 17 orphans in Arab and Islamic countries.
Mohammed Jakkah Al Mansouri, Secretary General of the Ras Al Khaimah Charity Foundation, told Khaleej Times that each and every orphan will get Dh1,800 a year for four years.
A cheque of the contribution has been given to Rashid Obaid Al Shehi, the executive in charge of aids and social services with the Human Appeal International.
"The move, in collaboration with charity entities, is meant to support the poor and low-income people and help them live a sound life, as per the directives of UAE prudent leadership."
Hailing the move, Al Shehi said the kind gesture will give a boost to indigent people locally and across the globe. "The Human Appeal International is sponsoring over 70,000 orphans all over the world."
Ras Al Khaimah Charity Foundation contributed a cheque of Dh280,000 to the Al Rahmah for charity in Ras Al Khaimah last year, Al Mansouri said. "The amount was aimed to support 39 orphans in some poor countries for four years."
