Indian Navy Ship makes goodwill visit to UAE

As part of a goodwill visit to strengthen the bilateral relations between India and UAE, Indian Coast guard ship Samudra Pavak visits Mina Al Rashid (Dubai Port) from February 4th to 7th.
On Sunday evening, February 5th Indian Ambassador in UAE Navdeep Suri visited the Indian Navy ship, he met the crew members and understood its functions and features. Apart from him, few officials from the consulate and an Indian businessman from UAE Ram Buxani were amongst the few to attend the small functions organised for the officials from UAE.

During the stay at port Rashid, the crew of the ship is scheduled to undertake various professional interactions with the UAE coast guard and CICPA. A joint exercise to enhance co-operation and exchange of expertise is planned with UAE coast guard. The visit also includes training and sporting events between the coast guards of both the countries.
The Indian Navy ship Samudra Pavak started off from India on January 19th from Gujarat, the next destination is Oman after Dubai. The visit was also conjoined with celebrations of Indian Republics Day at Qatar on January 26th and Coast Guard Raising day on February 1st at Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
The ship is equipped with state of the art technology which includes integrated platform managements system to monitor and control machinery parameters dynamic positioning system for precise maneuvering and positioning and power management systems for automatic control of generators.
Vessel can operate helicopter from its deck
ICGS Samudra Pavak is a specialised marine control vessel and is capable of carrying and operating helicopter from its deck. It is also fitted with CRN-91 gun with stabilised optronic pedestal for tracking facilities at night and day.  Presently, there are 100 crew members and 20 officers on the Indian ship which started from Gujarat.
The ship is also provisioned with various modes of propulsion such as boost mode, diesel electric mode, combinatory mode and normal diesel modes. The ship can achieve a maximum speed of 21 knots during boost mode. It is equipped with state-of-the-art technology for undertaking coast charter specific duties.
