Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), has strongly condemned as slander the statements made by Kuwait’s Muslim Brotherhood member Mubarak Al Duwailah on the official channel of Kuwait’s National Assembly, against the UAE and its leaders.

Al Duwailah made allegations against General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. Al Murr also called upon the Kuwaiti parliament to block any such attempts to damage the relations between the UAE and Kuwait.

In a statement, Al Murr said General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is a towering national symbol who makes sacrifices and works tirelessly and sincerely for the sake of the glory of the UAE and for strengthening ties and cooperation between the peoples and leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). His noble and good efforts have helped in sparing the UAE from the calamities of terrorism, commotion and instability, and in boosting its development, progress and prosperity.”

“Such false allegations are unfounded and are clearly aimed at sparking divisions between the GCC peoples and states, and were being levelled at a time when the GCC states are engaging in wider close cooperation aimed at serving the interests of their peoples. This has been clearly manifested in the recent GCC Summit in Doha, Qatar.”

The Federal National Council, which maintains close relations and cooperation with Kuwait’s National Assembly, emphasises that these allegations are false and that the people of the UAE categorically reject them.”

“The UAE’s Federal National Council calls upon Kuwait’s National Assembly to block the attempts made by such individuals whose aim is to damage the brotherly relations, solidarity and cooperation between the UAE and the brotherly State of Kuwait,” the FNC speaker concluded.
