Damaged and worn out national flags in the Capital will be replaced as part of a campaign launched by the Abu Dhabi Municipality.
The Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport has surveyed the status of all national flags flown on rooftops of houses, villas, buildings and public utilities. Twenty-three flags were replaced on Abu Dhabi Island yesterday.
The survey, which ended on Tuesday focused on the rules of flying state flags and keeping them intact as symbols of the motherland.
Citizens, residents and all community members are advised to uphold the lofty national values underlying the flag by maintaining it well, and cooperating with Municipality efforts to replace damaged and weather-worn flags.
Notice will be served to those failing to comply with flag usage regulations, and those failing to respond to the notice to replace damaged flags will be reported to the authorities concerned.
