The public may now enjoy seven new Islamic apps and services with just a click on their smart devices, adding to their happiness, and developing their awareness in a comfortable way.
The department of Islamic affairs and charitable activities in Dubai has launched an exceptional smart application which gives easy and friendly access to lots of its much-sought services.
"The smart services, meant to enlighten the public and bring them happiness, are the first of their kind on Islamic and charitable fields in the country," said Dr Hamad Al Shaibani, director general of the department.
Nasser Mubarak, IT manager at the department, told Khaleej Times that the public may now have smooth and fast access to the new Quran version of the popular Shaikh Maktoum Mus'haf (Quran version).
"The new smart app, which is available in regular WORD format for the first time in the country, can be directly downloaded from the official website of the department."
A new option has been added to this Mus'haf application, he pointed out. "The name of the Quran reader can be identified by his voice whereas the name and number of the Quran chapter can also be easily found and searched by voice."
What is more interesting is an interactive automatic e-Mufti through which an elite group of staff scholars instantly communicate with the public, receive their queries and answer them not only in writing but also via audio and video, he unveiled.
"The e-Mufti app, now available on an HD screen at the Dubai International Airport, Terminal-3, is directly connected to the Fatwa section of the department round the clock."
A special app has also been launched for charitable and humanitarian works as well under the theme: 'Emirates Charity' which is an exceptional platform for all charity associations and entities in the emirate of Dubai, Mubarak said.
"A unified database has been created for all charity institutions here to avoid duplication of the assistance and abuse of the entire system, and make auditing of all programmes, projects and activities easier, faster, and more accurate."
A new version of the 'Emirates Charity' website where Dh199,609,572 have been collected this year so far is just a click as well, he explained. "The updated website of the department of Islamic affairs and charitable activities in Dubai is also accessible."
Philanthropists can now donate anywhere at any time through an official, authenticated and legal channel with just a click at this Emirates Charity app, he underlined, "The door is wide open and closer for contribution to all types of charity."
All the department's diverse services can further be accessed through a smart app on their devices, Mubarak elaborated. "One can easily identify the nearest mosque, and find about the prayer timing as well."
A special app has also been launched for the benefit of staff employees under the theme 'Solidarity Fund', he disclosed. "This important app is an added value to all staffers and will be a big support to them all in case of emergency situations."
