Two women, who tricked three of their countrywomen to come here by fake job offers and then forced them into prostitution, were each sentenced to three years in jail on Monday on a human trafficking charge.
The two Moroccan women, a clerk, 39, and an unemployed, 22, are also accused of working in prostitution.
The Court of First Instance ordered that the women be deported.
It was earlier told that one of the victims, a 21-year-old, arrived in Dubai in September last year. "I came on a residence visa on an advertising company and was offered a job in a sports club in Abu Dhabi. I had paid a man (at large) Dh 5,000".
But the woman was taken to an apartment in Al Muraqqabat where she was told about her prostitution job.
After the first accused beat the victim with a shisha pipe and intimidated her with threats, she was forced to have sex with a Saudi man for SR 2,500.
She was deprived of her freedom and forced to stay in the apartment.
In another incident, when the victim was left alone with another man at a hotel she managed to escape and went to her friend's house in Al Barsha. She was advised to resort to the Dubai Police Human Rights General Department.
Another Moroccan victim, 21, told the prosecutors that the runaway suspect brought her here to work at a beauty salon. He made her sign on a cheque worth 90,000 Moroccan Dirhams. She was taken to the same flat where she saw two other women working willingly as prostitutes. She was forced to have sex with different men at hotels for Dh1,500.
The third victim, 27, claimed she was brought here about two months prior to the arrest after signing a cheque worth 90,000 Moroccan dirhams and was soon forced to have sex with men at hotels where she was dropped by the clerk. She had sex 18 times a month for amounts between Dh1,500 and Dh2,500.
A police lieutenant said that they raided the defendants' flat after receiving the complaint in October last year.
The verdict remains subject to appeal.
