Rahul Kapoor: Does the name ring a bell? Once you hear his motivational speeches, that name will stay with you forever.
He inspired and left many in tears when he spoke about the relationship he shared with his father - his idol and role model - at the 28th Annual International Seminar of the Abu Dhabi Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Addressing the audience, he said:

"My father told me that I am a 'gift to him'. He was struggling through his life and working hard to make ends meet. There wasn't enough money to take care of my brother's education. That was when he put all focus on me and said 'why don't you make the dreams come true'. I did well in school."
Kapoor revealed how he lost track of his life. "Later, I started drinking liquor, bunking classes, parties and all. I failed in subjects. He didn't say anything. Once, I lost a friend when we met with an accident after a booze party. He didn't say anything. But the incident and his reaction had a bearing on me. I changed a lot."
But then tragedy struck.
"My father had cancer but he didn't die until I finished my exams. He told my sister - who has written this in her diary - that he didn't want to die so that I can finish my exams. He didn't want me to fail again. He died soon afterwards. It was then I decided that I will not take up business but inspire people," said Kapoor, the native of Rajasthan, a northern Indian state.
Kapoor has worked with the late former Indian president APJ Abdul Kalam, cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni. He has inspired thousands over India, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and the US among others. He has also held motivational speeches in Dubai.
He has also written two books: "Work Wise - Lessons in Excellence for Young Professionals" and "Dad and I - Inspiring Stories for Teens".
Kapoor is also a guest faculty at Indian Institute of Management in Bangalore. He has been conferred with 'Outstanding Young Person of India 2010' by Junior Chamber International and 'Young Achievers Award' in the category of Social Entrepreneurship at Young India Conclave 2016.
