Mum held for torturing illegitimate daughter

Dubai - The woman had earlier been jailed over some financial crimes.

 A 12-year-old girl, who sought help from the Dubai Police after being tortured by her mother, has been rescued. A team from Al Qusais police station remained in touch with the victim as they rushed to her apartment.
Prima facie, it looks like the woman had physically abused her child, the police said.
On interrogation, the woman confessed to the police that her daughter was illegitimate and had no official documents. The victim has been sent to the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children.
The woman had earlier been jailed over some financial crimes.
The victim care department at Al Qusais police station has dealt with four cases pertaining to children since the beginning of the year.
